River Mountain Loop Trailheads in Lake Mead NRA are featured on this page. All are within the boundary of the Nevada portion of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. There is a charge for vehicles entering the recreation area.
Lake Mead NRA- Alan Bible Visitor Center – Historic Railroad – Trailhead

The Alan Bible Visitor Center is 4 miles northeast of Boulder City on U.S. 93 on the way to Hoover Dam at the intersection of Lakeshore Drive and US 93 (just before the Hotel).
This trailhead location is a shared trailhead with the River Mountains Loop Trail and the Historic Railroad Trail. The trailhead is signed Historic Railroad Trail and is the lower parking lot. You can access the trail from either the visitor center parking lot or the trailhead parking. Note: The lower trailhead parking is often full on weekends.
Lake Mead Parkway Fee Station – Trailhead
This trailhead is best accessed from Henderson, Nevada taking Lake Mead Parkway from Boulder Highway east to Lake Mead NRA. This trailhead is located just before the Park Fee Station on the right. It has a bathroom(pit-toilet), parking for horse trailers, trash cans and kiosk.. No water. There is parking space for horse trailers as there is Equestrian Trail access .

Trail access points are locations where access is easy, but do not have dedicated parking or the parking is for another purpose. We try to provide details of each for your use.
Boulder Harbor Lake Mead NRA – Access Point
This access point is located between Boulder Beach and Southern Nevada Water Authority Alfred Merritt Treatment facility. Boulder Harbor is a boat launch site with plenty of paved parking area. The trail crosses right at the entry into the area with restroom and parking immediately on the right. There is also water available.
